Favorite clinical rotation: My favorite clinical rotation was OB/GYN with Dr. Hilary Conway at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. I gained invaluable experience—from helping deliver babies to developing key procedural skills—and saw how much of this knowledge will translate into my future role in family medicine. Dr. Conway is an incredible provider, and watching how deeply she cares for her patients and community was truly inspiring.

What drew you to Family Medicine? I’m drawn to family medicine because it allows me to build long-term relationships through continuity of care, connect deeply with patients and their families, and care for people of all ages.

Favorite clinical rotation: I loved my very first rotation which was in Family Medicine. It was at a rural clinic and my preceptor did everything from small procedures, obstetric deliveries and prenatal care, and mental health counseling. I loved the full scope practice and how she was able to broadly care for that community.

What drew you to Family Medicine? I am drawn to Family Medicine because I truly do love every aspect of medicine. I want to be able to what my family medicine preceptor was able to do and more. I believe that I can best serve the community I grew up in with the skills and practice that a family medicine physician can provide.

Anything else you want people to know about you? I have been married to my wife Abby for 1.5 years and we have a 3-month-old baby boy. I love to hike, play rugby, wrestle, ski, read theology, and brush up on my spanish and piano skills in my free time. Wrapped in all of that is doing it all with my family that I am very close with.

Favorite clinical rotation: My favorite rotation was my family medicine sub-internship. I got to do full spectrum family medicine, including continuity clinic, inpatient adult medicine, and labor and delivery. It was so cool to see all of the different settings where family doctors can provide excellent care! This rotation helped me to envision my goals for a future full spectrum family medicine practice.

What drew you to Family Medicine? So many things draw me to Family Medicine! I love that family doctors get the opportunity to care for patients in all stages of life and sometimes multiple generations of the same family. It is immensely gratifying to see how long-term continuity helps patients to successfully navigate our complex health system and to make health decisions that align with their values and goals. I am also a naturally curious person, so I'm excited to have a career where I get to know a little bit about everything! Additionally, the FM philosophy accounts for a patient's family and social context. By applying this lens, family doctors can understand and address health disparities in their communities.

Anything else you want people to know about you? My interests in family medicine include women's health, maternity care, addiction medicine, and LGBTQ+ health. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my parter and our families, walking my dog Freddie, playing tennis, spending time in the outdoors, and trying out new recipes.
